Cinema Veterinary Centre is looking to add an enthusiastic, hard-working head technician to their cast! Full Time opportunity for experienced Registered Veterinary Technicians or equivalently experienced Veterinary Assistants to join our team!

Hourly pay based on experience. Interested candidates should show a commitment to quality care, conduct themselves with Integrity, have compassion for animals and humans alike, and be able to provide the best service possible for our clients and patients.

Qualifications:
-Minimum 2 years direct experience as a Veterinary Technician/ Assistant
-Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as mental reasoning
-Willingness to learn, be guided, be confident around animals, show proper safety and restraint techniques (i.e. dogs, cats, pocket pets, exotics)
-Possess the ability to manipulate (lift, carry, move) 50 lbs. or more; walk, stoop, kneel, and crouch intermittently, and stand for long periods of time
-Assist veterinarian in medical procedures using proper restraint, administer treatments (PO, SQ, IV, IM), know how to restrain fractious patients, and assist veterinarian in surgical procedures

-Maintain and use medical equipment such as in house laboratory and autoclave
-Collect and prepare samples for outside laboratory analysis
-Induce anesthesia and intubate patients, also monitor patients under anesthesia (if licensed in CA)

-Take radiographs, vital signs including temperature, pulse, and respiration
-Perform anesthetic dental cleanings
-Perform and analyze skin and ear cytologies
-Perform catheterization (urinary and venous) in dogs and cats (occasionally pocket pets)

Expectations (but not limited to):

-Lead by example

-Ensure veterinary staff (assistants/tech assistants) are fully trained at their jobs and that they remain productive throughout each shift

-Develop new protocols as needed with the input of the Doctors

-Being the person to whom all technical staff should report to with questions and problems. Play no favorites with the staff, and treat all staff with dignity and respect.
